Affordable Insurance Coverage
If you are like me you been following the presidential campaign trail. I have been listening very diligently to what the candidates have been saying about insurance, because this is going to affect me in the long run but only with regard to increase taxes but also wondering if I’m going to have affordable health insurance in the future. With the high cost of medical care one cannot go without Texas health insurance and expect to remain financially stable. I suppose we can’t all pretend like were in Las Vegas and play the roulette wheel or perhaps the craps table and take a big gamble with not having healthcare coverage and hope that we never get sick or injured. Sometimes that’s what I feel like doing because my monthly premiums are so expensive.
I remember when I was a child my parents used to discuss their health insurance coverage on a continual basis. 40 to 45 years ago getting affordable health insurance coverage was not a big deal, because government was not involved. And I recall that the monthly premiums, co-pays and deductibles are quite inexpensive. It makes me wonder what has happened since that time that is gotten us to the place where we are were one out of every four Americans are going without health care coverage. I have thought many times about forgoing my health insurance coverage so that I could retain the money to be able to pay my bills. It’s very frustrating to pay high monthly premiums each and every month and then you look back at the end of the year and realize that you did not have to seek any medical treatment and you’ve paid thousands of dollars in coverage. It all gets very frustrating and confusing. But I continue to pay for my Texas health insurance on a monthly basis instead of taking the gamble of not having coverage and then needing medical attention and having to pay for it all out of my pocket.
I begin to think about the population that is in their retirement years and only have Medicare insurance coverage. What do they do when they’re on a fixed income and their portion of the hospital and doctor bills exceeds their monthly income? I will be in this populous sooner than later and I want to be sure that I have the coverage I need in a good supplement plan that will help me through my retirement years so that I will be able to make ends meet on a monthly basis. I know that if I call 1-800-MEDIGAP one of their highly skilled and trained agents will be able to walk me through the steps to get the coverage I need as I approach retirement. As it stands right now with the state of the economy this may be the only thing that I have to look forward to in my retirement years.
